Default Anyone done an h23 block h22 head high comp piston build?

I was looking at the specs, and just as the h23's name specifies, it does have a larger displacement. Same bore as the h22, but increased stroke. The h22, however, has a vtec head. Both are DOHC, though. The h23 has a lower compression ratio than the h22. I haven't looked at the pistons, but has anyone done a build where the h22 head was rebuilt and placed on the rebuilt block (bored out with newer, higher compression pistons) of an h23? If so, what kind of power did you get?

What compression are we talking? In what way is the head being rebuilt? Are you adding a high lift cam? What bore are you looking at?

Your question is extremely vague! Can you be a bit more specific on any of the parts or modifications you mentioned?

I was vague on purpose to see if anyone here had done anything in the realm of what I was talking about, because I was considering doing it after I complete my f22 build.

But I guess I can at least talk about what I wanted to do, or at least as much of it that I've got planned for far.

h23 block, cylinders bored out to 88mm. Wiseco K572M88 pistons. Compression ratio 11.5:1

h22 head. Maybe new titanium retainers and springs. New valves. New camshafts. Just an overall new build, though I don't have any specific parts or brands on mind yet.

That's still vague, but like I said, I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone here has done anything similar, doesn't have to be exact.

With those pistons you will require an iron sleeve job becuase the H23 has FRM sleeves (wiseco states this on their web site). Those 11.5:1 specs are for an H22, once you put them in a Hybrid that could potentially raise them up into the 12.5 to 13:1 range.

There are a few H23 VTEC hybrids floating around. Most people tend to call them the G23. If you search for G23 builds you will be able to find more information about there power potentials. PirateMcFred has a pretty good write up on the G23, I think he used an F23 block though. No FRM sleeves so it's a bonus off the hop for using aftermarket forged pistons.

A buddy of mine did the H23A1/H22 VTEC head. I don't know what power he's got.
