Default OBX THROTTLE BODY

Anybody rock an OBX throttle body?
If so can you share some feed back on it.
I'm looking at a 74mm one on ebay an it's less then $200 new.
Compared to Skunk2 70mm throttle body that cost extremely close to $400!
**** that.

I generally agree with what Russ is saying but I must say that there are certain parts that OBX makes that are far superior to stuff that is on the market. I know their RH was pretty good and also their lsd's. They also had the mugen replica twinloop that were very good quality... but the rest of their stuff I would personally stay away from!

hybrid racing TB looks top!

skunk2 will be good as well, especially the new mega power one that is out for the 06+ SI's...good to pair it with either a 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust

The Hybrid Racing throttle body is over $400!
There's also Blox & BDL that make tb's
Little cheaper, but i know nothing of they're reliability.
Why are these parts so damn expensive if they only work right after a certain peak in power?

exactly. why buy an aftermarket throttle body that will probably stick when you can bore out your stock one for a fraction of the price.

yes but this would mean you would need to have an extra TB during the time yours is out getting bored...or another car to drive...

taper created velocity and to be honest tb's aren't going to get you anything at all unless your motor is exceeding the amount of flow it already has. so tb on a bolt on motor build is a waste. putting a velocity stack on your intake pipe has more of an effect.

kinda useless.. turbo gona be punching air thru there.. i never replace the stock tb when building anything less than 500whp goal, and typical don't replace it ever to be honest. ill put a bored and tapered unit on a na car to help because the engine is creating suction to pull in air rather than a turbo thats going to push air in no matter what.

500whp?
I've been told going 100hp over stock is when it actually makes a difference.
