Engine Cranking but wont fire, please help
I have a 1992 Acura Integra GS with a b18a1
I dont get it , I went out for a drive and shut the car off , went to start it back up and it would just crank and crank. I let it sit for a few mins then it fired. I stopped to the cash station filled my tank and when to start it. It cranks and cranks but doesn't fire. My CEL is staying on, could this be a fuel pump relay? Any help to point me in the right direction would be great.
I replaced the sparkplugs last night and gapped them to .044mm
thanks in advance!

Well first thing i would do is check the CEL. Your problem does kinda sound like a bad crankshaft position sensor. But that doesn't mean to just go and replace it.
I guess there is a problem with the timing belt or timing chain. If it either of the two fails, it will cause the camshaft to become out of correlation with the crankshaft or allow the camshaft to stop rotating. Try to check it.

just check your timing just in case but check if you ave fuel and spark

Its rolling over but not firing, I replaced the Main Fuel Relay. I checked the fuses but I will double check. I have to wait for my buddy to get here so I can see if its getting fuel or spark.
-Take fuel rail off (3 10mms)
Make sure the injectors don't come out the rail.
-Wrap each injector in a rag and turn the key to assessory.
-See if the rags are soaked with fuel, if they are you have fuel.
To test for spark:
-remove one spark plug wire
-unplug your injectors (in your case this don't matter cause if won't start but if in other cases if it was able to you wouldn't want it to ignite)
-take the wire you pulled out and direct the metal connecton inside toward one of the 10mm nuts on your VC and keep it about a 1/4in away
-while you hold it have someone turn the car over and see if a spark connects from the wire to the bolt, if it does you have spark
Just in case you wanna diy
Some easy tests...
Turn ign. switch to run, [not start] can you hear the fuel pump prime the system, [run for a few sec. and then turn off]?
The sequence is... turn on ign. switch to tun.
You should hear 2 clicks from the PGM-FI Main Relay, they may sound like one click as they are very close together.
At the same time, [as the 2 clicks] the CEL will turn on and you should hear the fuel pump prime for a few seconds.
After a few sec. you should hear a 3rd click from the PGM-FI main Relay the pump will turn off as will the CEL.
First click is the injector relay turning on, controlled by the ign. switch.
Second click is the fuel pump relay turning on, controled by the injector relay, [power] and ECU/ECM, [ground].
Third click is the fuel pump relay turning off, ECU/ECM cuts the ground.
To determine if it is a no fuel/no spark problem, [assuming you hear the relay clicks and fuel pump] try and start the engine, two or three 2-3 sec. crank attempts, immediately remove a spark plug and inspect it, is it wet with gas, does it smell of gas, put a lighter to it, will it burn, if not the problem is fuel.
If so, plug the spark plug into the lead, ground the plug and check the spark. 94

thanks, I replaced the mfr but after checking my fuel pump isnt pumping fuel to the front, its not working at all
. I cant believe it went out, I just replaced it two years ago.

Got people on a wild goose chase to help you
Is the problem with your engine got fixed now? Have you done all the checking that others has suggested?
BTW, the lack of fuel pressure or volume will cause the fuel delivery system to fail and the engine to stall or not start.

Just because the fuel pump is not turning on it does not necessarily mean the fuel pump is bad, you need to confirm that there is power and ground at the fuel pump plug.
Confirm that there is 12V+ at the fuel pump plug, [for a few sec. once ign. switch is turned on] yellow/black lead.
Confirm there is a ground, [at all times] at the fuel pump plug, black lead. 94
