not sure on your budget or whatnot, but i have this on my d-series civic. (should be what your car has in it if it's stock). you can buy the muffler only if you need to or get the kit. i would not expect any sort of huge horsepower gain with any exhaust kit. only difference i noticed was the car was a little more responsive. imo this exhaust is cheap and sounds great. g/l with whatever you choose

the gains from a muffler are going to be minimal to none, you wont even notice. get a full kit with piping and then you will see a loss in bottom end and a gain in higher rpms. if you dont have a budget spoon n1 is great.
Your engine probably puts 90whp on a good day. Spending $1000 on exhaust MIGHT bring it up to 100whp.
Making your car fun doesn't mean drowning out your music and passengers in a symphony of motorized landscaping.
Get some nice shocks/springs and you'll enjoy your car a lot more. And attract a lot less attention.

Or the 1st time a cop glares at you for doing 30mph in a 35mph zone.
It's only natural, it just sounds like your car is working harder than it is.

Point well made. I had the HKS Hiper on my Teg, it sounded good and wasn't too loud. A good set of coilovers(Tein/H&R) and a camber kit will make you WANT to drive your car. I had the Tein Basics, best money I ever spent besides that one time in Guam but thats a story for another time.
For the simple fact that with the way I drive having my camber corrected meant my tires lasted longer. I was stating my opinion. You obviously think performance only has to do with hp.
If you want a faster car buy good tires and suspension.
Um no, I'm sure everyone who legimitally builds a car knows you should do suspension first. Who cares if you have 1000whp if you cannot put It to the ground. With tire wear I guess I don't get the full effect since my camber is like -1, I think being "slammed" is not pratcical and lame.

for your thoughts.
Apexi WS is they way to go for sure.
it's practically the H-T official exhaust.
That or custom piping with an ES oval.
Edit: Or one of those OBX twin loops.

I have a Flow Master American Thunder. It was around $220 3 years ago. It's only an axle back though. It sounds good, but it's a little bit too loud.
A good thing to do is get on youtube and listen to sound clips of any exhaust you maybe interested in. Remember you get what you pay for. You can get a cat-back for under $400 but it may not have the build quality of one that costs $200 more. Stay away from ebay "specials" and fly by night companies.
