Default Megan Racing Headers

I currently have a 97 Accord SE(2.2L). I'm doing a little research and i came across a particular perfomance header in my price range by Megan Racing. I was wondering, if i purchase this header, will i have to replace my piping or will it work just fine with my stock piping?

I assume you mean the exhaust pipe? It will def fit without modification.

its should work...but if you are f22b2 you might have problems with the O2 sensor location

i personaly would suggest looking into the JVT header if your not looking for a carb legal header

Just get the Megan header made for the B2. I had one on my B1 and it fit with no problem. Just not sure about the B2 motor.

Nothing. All you will need to do is lengthen the wires, or snag some junkyard connectors and fab up a jumper. The B2 headers mount the O2 sensor on the header flange, where the megan racing/ex 4-2-1 headers mount the O2 sensor underneath the motor at the end of the downpipe.
Extend the wires and you will be fine.

They have a o2 sensor bung on the upper part of the manifold that points towards the passenger side headlight AND on the downpipe where you mentioned.

Everything is pretty straight forward. Unbolt what you see that is holding the header on. Use knocker loose or WD40 and let it soak for 5-10 mins before you loosen them up.

You would need to splice the wires. You cut the wire a few inches from the sensor. Strip both sides, and attach a length of same gauge wire to them to extend it. You should solder them with a soldering iron and heatshrink it. You would put the piece of heatshrink on first, then solder the connection together, then use a heat gun to shrink it.

I hear exhaust stud nuts are hard to get out ( because they rust in place) if you have access to any air tools, that would be cool.
SO...

instead of buying just headers i got a full jdm n1 race exhaust on ebay for 280 headers, down pipe, test pipe where the cat used to be, the pipe from there to the, resonator, then the 4" muffler with rainbow tip you can get all that for the price of just headers and i had to move both my o2 sensors ill send you the wire and connectors its real easy to do it should take you 3hours top to install the full exhaust rubber hangers and move the sensors if you like ill give you the item number on ebay for the exhaust you would be alot happier then just getting a header and if you ordered it allready send it back you paid to much

i heard that before, but ebay you can find deals if you look, and i got all stainless chrome plated pipe with all perfect welds, and nice thick flanges, so are you the person that buys a part from the dealer or autozone, or do you take your car to a garage instead of working on it yourself, there is no difference in what i got besides the price you can think what you like, my buddy got that megan over priced stuff and when compared to what i got both the same in every way, so if you want to pay more so you can say i got megan headers that will change color in a day anyway go right ahead, but me i rather have a full exhaust will a year warranty for the price of headers...

yes there is a difference.

ebay mufflers are dog crap and the packing wears out quickly in them and im not going to lie...i have an ebay exhaust, it only has about 50% of the hangers the OEM one had, and the stainless is usually very low grade if it even is stainless...if i had the money i would replace the muffler and the resonator on it..fitment is usally an issue

ebay headers are also crap...they are very thin walled giving a crappy sound, this is also why they change colors...the ports dont always match the ones on the engine...once again there is usually a fitment issue..as the O2 sensor can be in any random spot

yes i do about 95% the work on my car and at times there are times when you should take it to a shop.....you wouldnt do alignment yourself would you???? Just yesterday i had the shop perfect the height on my coils that i installed

and you dont even know what i got off ebay to say its crap, what i got i sweet and im happy i got it fit right up not one problem, the first o2 was in the headers and the second right before the test pipe, right where they should go since i got rid off my cat,all the hangers matched right up, and you can look before you buy, i got the right set up at a great price, so be bitter, and the only time i would ever take my car to a garage is for a alignment besides that i can do anything else cars are simple to work on, it took me seven days to completely rebuild my car but i guess i should of paid a garage 5000 or more to do it and wait a month or more, all garages care about is money that is what they are in business for to make money, and if i need work done i do it myself since its my car and care about and know the work will be done right, now ill got to buy an laser alignment setup off ebay thanks for the idea ...

so you got a product that that manufacturer took some time to do R&D then??? If not it probably is crap or half-assed then...do you buy ebay coils because they were a good price that has who knows what spring rates and that can potentially hurt/kill you or others because of the amazing metal they claimed to use breaks

and yes everyone knows about that most shops are doing it for the money...just yesterday i changed out a wheel stud in about 15 minutes that most shops that i got quotes from wanted around $150 for..but believe it or not there are shops out there for the who do it for the people...but can we please get back on topic since you stated tyring to thread jack about using shops and this guy is talking about his megan header

To OP password JDM sells O2 extenders so you dont have to splice into your harness just in case you ever want to go back to the og stuff

i know...that was about the avg. price of the 7 shops i went to, the highest non-stealeship price being at pepboys at i think it was about $197....i literally said "what the ****, do i at least get a new hub and rotor" to the guy and then left

i then saw the diy on hs and got it done in about 30 minutes incuding jacking the car up and removing the wheel and have, so far since ive found the diy had to do it ive had to do it twice

i have these headers lying in my garage i sell them to u for 100 bucks plus shipping and u dont need to buy anything because it comes with to o2 sensors spot for the b1 or b2 engine and it has a cap for which ever one u dont use and it bolts direclty up to the stock piping

we are talking about stainless steel pipe not springs, my friend got performance headers for like 300 and i matched them up to mine same thing the only difference was price so for what he paid for headers i got a full exhaust sounds great fit right up and came with a warranty if it was springs tokico i would get. so what i should have a kn intake for 280 instead of the same thing for 20 off ebay. some items you can get cheap like a air intake or exhaust. besides that all my other parts are top brand. i know cars very well and dont need a name brand lecture or quality speech. all my pistons, bearings, gaskets, head, plugs, wires, and many other items i dont feel like listing.the things that are important for a good running engine i know to buy good, im just saying exhaust and intake you dont haft to buy name brand.and yes now i can do a alignment myself since i just bought a CAMBER/CASTER GAUGE KIT TOOL RACING AUTOCROSS 13 - 22" off ebay for 95 so not one reason to ever go to a stupid garage and wolf what does 95% of your own work consist of when you cant even adjust your coil overs you are funny, i can adapt and over come any problem without ever calling a garage, and still its crap since you didnt ever see it, but just because it came from ebay so if got body armor from ebay is that crap or a street bike or a car, come on dont be so close minded deals are out there if you know what you are looking for that is all i was trying to say but you must of looked through all 3000 listings for 1996-97 exhaust on ebay to say they are all crap im done with this thread see ya
