Default 01 PY ITR Pricing?

I've been poking around for a few weeks on here, trying to gather what information i can before making a purchase in the spring time. I wanted to know if 13k for 93k mi is reasonable as the market for ITR's is not set. This guy has been trying to sell this ITR for the last almost year.

http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/ctd/1965270004.html

If it's around come spring 11' i'll try contacting him. I wanted to hear from real owners of ITR's if the car seems worth it given whats shown?

Thanks

looks legit, looks good. the only real way to make sure it's worth the full 13k is to look at it in person and see if there is any rust or what not. but from those pics, $13k looks good good luck with the buy

Not bad considering that I have a 2000 PY ITR with 92k. But I have other goodies like suspension work, header, intake and exhaust. I purchased mine about that price, just a little higher. Look for rust!

Yeah that'd be my biggest concern next to recovered theft or rebuilt title!

Being from a really cold region means worrying about the honda rust spots even on such a beauty as this. I'm hoping for the best but haven't contacted the guy because i wouldn't be serious about buying for another 7 months.

Good to hear he's not gouging with the price. If i purchase this or another R even from someone on here, I'm goin all stock! at most an intake but thats it.

Plus a JDM shift boot! I'd say go titanium ****, but those aren't cheap, and the aluminum stock one is fine

One benefit "I" have is i'm in an area where vehicle theft is almost nill.

I had a skunk2 shift ****/short throw shifter on my last integra had some good weight to it. I've been looking around and i like the password jdm cf intakes. I'd also completely refurbish the interior and exterior to make it look mint.

It's 7 months away and i've been looking at ITR's non stop for weeks now GARRRRR!!!!!!

You really think so? I paid $14.4k in June of '09 for a '01 PY R with 100k. But I also was willing to pay for it because its the last year of production and had a clean title and it's from the first owner and all that good stuff. I'd say it's worth it.

You've stated exactly what i'm hoping for out of this or any other R i get my paws on next year. I wanna contact the owner and ask a million questions i just don't like tire kickers myself! I don't wanna be one either.

The give it a shot. It's not like the owner doesn't know the feeling your having about owning an R. Just be patient and save your cash and buy a clean ITR!

I'll have plenty of $ once my gixxer and civic are gone in the spring! that'll free up around $650 a month in payments and ins. My gf thinks i'm nuts, "it's just a car" she says.

I think $13K is a very fair price considering the mileage. Maybe not a huge bargain, but you're not overpaying either. And don't be surprised if it's gone if you are waiting till next spring.

I'm 90% certain i wanna set up a time to look at it this weekend. I'd have to sell my car to purchase another. At the same time i saw this ad originally posted back in oct/nov of last year! My thoughts are either everyone's bs'ing the guy on the price or it has problems with the title! hence why it hasn't sold after 10months.

Nice find. that's about as far as i'd be willing to travel too. 7.5hrs drive. I actually used to live around that seller.

Arizonas across the country the car would have to have under 30k miles for me to attempt that. But thanks!

I appreciate all the help guys.

In other words - it has a bad title (salvage, I assume). And if it was claimed as clean, the seller was a scammer.

I got my '01 PY ITR for $12,000. Clean title and only 31k original miles. It used to belong to an older guy who had to get rid of it to pay for a home remodel job. He NEVER EVER drove it. He lived out of state.

It all boils down to timing. When you have the cash ready be patient and look around. Closely inspect the "right" one and make the deal. Good luck and enjoy!
