Default So let's talk insurance

The ITR is getting older and I'm curious how insurance companies are rating this car in terms of exposure to risk and general valuation. What kind of premiums are people paying these days?

I recently won a bet where I insisted that an S2000 premium would be higher than the same year ITR (by $9 lol). I got the free dinner to ease the pain of paying $1006/yr with a $500 deductible and 100% clean record in Chicago :/ And that's after adding myself to the parents' policy too.

Is it me or is this still a little ridiculous? Do we have any actuaries in the house??

$1000 a year is not bad, I was paying $600 for 6 months. And to top it all off it was my 'pleasure vehicle' as the insurance call them.

Yes S2000 insurance should be alot higher than ITR's

Rant* when my ITR got stolen they claimed 'it is just an integra'....

A friend of mine pays $360/6mo for the same coverage on a 2007 350Z, one zip code away and same driver age. Does that mean I'm paying a $280 annual VTEC tax??

ps- I like your avatar, I remember it from ClubSi years and years ago

Some do, but the difference is marginal in my experience. You being 20 counts against you... of course you could always get married lol it's a bad economy haven't you heard???

Premiums are determined by where you live, what your driving record is, what your demographics are, etc. What someone else pays has absolutely nothing to do with what you will pay.

You can get quotes from multiple insurance companies using websites like Insweb.com and Insure.com
