hey guys,
i recently just picked up an 89 civic Si!! im loving the old school-ness of it so far, but ive ran across a major problem with my sunroof!
we had a pretty hard down pour last night. In the morning I come out to my car, start her up, put her in reverse, then put on the brakes as soon as i reach my desired point. To my surprise, as soon as i hit the brakes, water starts pouring from the passenger side of the sunroof?!!!
im curious if anyone knows how to prevent these leaks!! or what i need to replace so i dont get them anymore. (and no my sunroof wasnt open lol)
is this a common problem for 88-91 civic si's??
Any help would be much appreciated!!

well u need to unclog the drain tubes n then clean out all the trash from the s/r area...after all of tha u need to use compressed air to blow out all the junk it has in the tube... then u can start checking for the leak... also dont 4get to clean n lube the s/r rails gud luck

thanks guys, i checked the sticky thread and i found a nice write up!
so main reason why these leak, is because of the drain tubes?? not because of cracked seals or anything :/

yup. Water builds up and has nowhere to go. There is also a test you can do to check whether it is the tubes or the seals. That's covered in the write up as well.

take a look in the hatch behind the plastic around the tailight access covers..youll see a drain tube in there on each side. this allows water to drain behind the rear wheels. that tube may be clogged on the end, pull those hoses outta the holes they sit in and clean em out. mine were clogged with sand, dirt, leaves, crud..jammed a screwdriver in there and the goo came out.

Here are some pics of mine I found laying around. Mine were completely clogged and stuffed with litte sticks (no homo)
, dust, dirt, and various assundry grime and gunk.
Just pull the tail lights to get to them. One behind each tail light (left and right).
