91 hatch not moving.. ?
ok so im working on a 91 hatch, built B18A1 non vtec swap with a b16 j1 transmission. the teeth on the clutch disc stripped out so we got a new clutch, put it on and btw the boot on the pass. side has a tiny rip and the driver side cv axle is conpletely ripped. so we got all done hooking evertyhing back up, put it in gear let off the clutch and nothing. it didnt move. i really doubt its the clutch because theres still good pressure on the pedal and it goes into every gear just fine. im not sure if its the cv axles the splines look ok
does anyone know what else could cause that??

honestly i wasnt paying much attention to it i didnt notice the spedometer. i dont think it moved tho. i know theres no way that new clutch disc cant be stripped out.
and as far as the axle its two separate pieces idk **** about axles i just put it back together. i dont see why it wouldnt work tho and if it did the spedometer would go up wouldnt it?
turn the car on, put it in neutral, let the clutch out and look under the hood.... are either of the axles turning, specifically the shaft closest to the tranny.
my car did this but the splines were stripped out of the hub and the whole axle spun in the hub and the car wouldnt move

ok theres not really any play in the clutch its a cable clutch. the clutch disc was put in correctly, this isnt my first clutch and besides that it can only go in one way. and the clutch disc was stripped. after we got it out i checked on the input shaft and it was just floppin around on it.
Sounds like the problems is coming from the axles. When you were taken them out, did you take off the retaining clip on the trans side of the axle? Ive seen that done and all that happens is the axles slide out just a bit causing the car not to move. Im not familiar with LSD so if the problem is with that, I cant help.
idk me and my buddy couldnt figure it out because everything was done right, nothing seems damaged and everything we can seem to think of we seem to be able to disprove it
so we flat towed it to a transmission shop because its free diagnosis but i still have no idea what would cause it. if it was the cv axles stripped out you would think it would make some sort of noise? or if it had anything to do with the clutch it would also make noise or you wouldnt have pressure on the clutch pedal right?

sooo all gears dont even move cept 3rd? wow,, seriously the car had to have had the wrong size clutch disc or something for it to strip like that lol thts just nuts. well least you know you need a new trans and thats the prob..orr are you rebuilding it?
noo deff not gonna rebuild it but i was reading up on that. im kinda wondering tho, cuz i have a built d16z6 and a spare tranny, could i swap out the gears to b16 gears and use the d16 transmission housing?? would be sick
i have an extra d series tranny which is why im bothering. but if all the internals of a b-series tranny fit into the d-series block and the gears are shorter would it not be beneficial or atleast faster? and i wouldnt have to make or buy(if they sell them) a b to d conversion bracket
soo you have a good d series trans...aaand a b trans.. you want to put the B internals into the D housing? not sure if all that goes together without any issues. just put the d trans on the car and be done! why make more work...
i dont have a b series tranny but i can easily get one. and id make more work for myself for learning purposes and if i **** something up it wont affect my daily driver. i imagine if the gears are shorter you would obviously accelerate faster. just another project to undertake
