Default Question about changing my cv axles

I have a 1989 Honda Accord DX manual transmission. When I pried the passenger side axle off the transmission about a half quart of oil spilled out. Is this transmission oil or what? Can I refill it from the top or where? Thanks.

Transmission fluid.....for the later years manual transmissions had a fill hole. You can safely fill it from the dipstick hole though.
