Hey guys, My name is Casey and I would like to introduce you to my girlfriends and my project hatchback. Basically I drive 80 miles a day to college and back and my Ls swapped ek hatch just wasnt up to par with mpg's so i wanted something that would save me some money. This is by no means a high dollar baller build, just something im slapping together with parts ive collected over the years. I missed my old 91 Si hatch so i wanted another ef hatch to work on and drive. We found this 100% stock gem close to home so we decided to buy it. The people we bought it from looked like they came straight out of the movie Deliverance. I was told the distributor was fried, some wires were chewed up by rats and blah blah blah. Finally brought it home, put a fresh battery in it and it started right up, drove up and down the road just fine but seems like the alternator is going bad. But enough with the story lets get on with the car. The plans consist of....

Engine bay:
Rebuilt d15b2 block with dohc zc high comp pistons
Dpfi-Mpfi swap
Obx or d16z6 intake manifold
Ls throttle body
Mild wire tuck and shave
Si 5-speed cable tranny

Interior:
Tilt Steering column
Cd player
Momo monte carlo steering wheel
skunk2 dual bend
blox weighted shift ****
Dc2 center console with cup holders and armrest
carbon fiber F1 spec race seat
And I gotta get rid of the nasty pleather seats

Suspension and Brakes:
Da Integra brake swap and master cylinder
steel braided brake lines
Ebay coilovers
15 inch white rota slips or 16 inch polished gt3's
89 Dx swap bar
3 point front upper strut bar, c-pillar bar, front lower tie bar, beaks tie bar and asr subframe brace
Blox extended lugs

Exterior:
Just a front lip and ek side skirts and tint the windows
Amber corners and side markers
Hids and fog lights

This is the shape we got it in. Covered in tons of moss, pine needles, and pine cones. The lady said its been sitting for 7 months but Ive had an eye on the car for over 2 years now.

These are the kind of stickers people put on their car to try and fit in. not jdm at all...hah


The interior was nothing to be proud of either. I gagged a few times cause of some of the nasty crap i found like rotten open candy bars, a sandwich in a ziplock bag, and a **** ton of rocks and wood chips. It had the stock tape deck (for sale) and a honda block off plate.

The people were nice enough to give me a set of snow tires. They'll work great for the Washington winters we have here.


And the 100% stock D15b1. Still runs and drives good after 280,000 miles.

After about an hour of washing the bastard i finally got a decent looking car out of the deal. On the plus side the body is 99% straight, hardly any dings anywhere.

 

I will keep this thread up to date often. i got some time on my hands so plenty will be done to it within the next 3 months. Comments and feed back are welcomed.

Interior moderatly cleaned out, i think im gonna ditch the carpet

Put in my adjustable steering column. It doesnt feel like Im driving a bus anymore

Obx intake mani w/ Ls throttle body. traded it for a hood bra so i might as well use it

went to the junkyard and sourced an injecter resistor box, pr4 ecu with mpfi pin outs, and a crx si dizzy all for 20 bucks



The brakes came off my shell i had bought for 20 bucks about 6 months ago. Their bigger than the integra brakes on my Ek

yeah once we got it all cleaned up i started to have some hope. ill probably strip everything out and give everything a good cleaning.

Yeah thats what happens to cars up here in washington. I cant complain tho, the body is near mint. But yeah im switching to an 88-89 bumper today and i cant figure out how the headlights come out. These cars have soo many hidden bolts its rediculous.

Ya im curious as to how it will perform over the d16z6 intake manifold. I know for a fact it will make a huge difference over the stock dpfi system lol.

thanks, yeah i waxed it the other day and was pretty impressed with the results. theres some sun fade on the hood and driver side fender so im debating about respraying the whole car red or another color.

 

body looks pretty good for how nasty it was! it was parked in a forest for 20 years!

 

brought it back to life.....came out clean.................glw build...............................

I switch from a Canon Rebel Eos, Coolpix point and shoot, and a few others. their all my little sisters so i just grab whatever camera is available lol.

If its not up to par with my setup then id be glad to sell it to ya lol.

Its all yours. its practically mint except the license plate holes are kinda chewed up. make me an offer.

Ive honestly never seen a car as bad as this one, if you can top that then you deserve an award or something lol.

yeah it'll definantly make the engine look a tad bit beefier. Got some headers for 25 bucks today too. looks like the person i bought it from attempted to polish them but used very gritty sand paper.

 

I was like wow that is a nasty hatch, but you did a fine good job cleaning it up! Good luck bro cant wait to see how it comes out.

its on gray primer some guy told me that if i paint my car with a gloss and clear coat
it will look ugly cuz it has a few dents no big ones..
but i think he juss want me to do the easier things
he wants me to re-paint it with another primer color with a clear coat
