have you ever replaced them before? the halfshaft looks like its from a da, unless you somehow managed to break the spline'd end of the halfshaft, which you would need to be the hulk on steroids to do.
this is the last axel they gave me i havent tryd it yet cus thats when my menchanic called me tellin me i had the wrng half shaft , so i didnt try but can someone tell me if this is the one i need .. if not ill go pick up the other tomorrow
yah it takes like 10 minutes. pull the wheel, 4 19mm lugs. then pull the axle nut. 32nn.
take off the lower balljoint castle nut 17mm, then take off the strut fork bottom bolt 14mm.
then wack the side of the lower control arm till the balljoint pops out.
slip the old axle out of the hub, then from the halfshaft "screwdriver or crowbar is you friend here"
then slip the new one on.
put it into the half shaft, wiggle it til it goes in all he way, then put into the wheel hub.
bolt on the strut fork, and the lower ball joint. install NEW cotter pin.
install axle nut, make sure to hammer in the locking tab, and reinstall the wheel.
then go dump the clutch and do a sick burnout.
seriously, i replaced both my axles and axle seals in under 30 minutes, with basic hand tools.
