!!!!!!!!!!!Should I Mill My Type R!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 95 4dr. With a 97 Type R full swap. Some of my valve seals are leaking. So im going to replace them. Im wondering if its a good idea. To mill the head some, To bump up compression. Is it a good idea. Will it work. Or is it no good. If it is a good idea. How much do i mill off. How much will the compression go up. Will a stock head gasket still work. Will i have to use a fuel press regulator. For more fuel, how much fuel press do i run. Will the stock fuel injectors, work. To add fuel with. Will they support a press regulator. For some extra fuel. With out having to up grade, injectors. NEED SOME HELP Thanks 76hatch
you can have the head checked at a local machine shop to see if it needs milling, if you mill it within factory specs you can use a factory head gasket. and no there is no need for a fuel pressure regulator.
Anytime I have ever had a head off the bottom end, I always have had it machined. I would just make sure it's within factory spec's if it were me though.
milling it withing spec will give you a tiny bump in compression. anything more than that you risk damage to the engine. If you are really stuck on raising compression, changing the pistons will give you the results you are looking for
