New Takeda Intake
Today I just installed a new Takeda intake that my friends got me for my birthday. I have a 2009 Civic Si Sedan. However, I have no previous experience working on my car. I basically just tried following the instructions. Can someone tell me if I did this right.
There are these two pieces of metal tubing welded together. One piece is still in place (not even sure what its purpose is) leaving the other just hanging there. The one I disconnected had one line going to the old intake, and the other side going to the top of the engine. I replaced the tubing with the one in the kit going directy from the new intake to the top of the engine. I used the original tubing for the second connection. Please excuse my noobish ways, but any advice would be appreciated.

I have the Takeda and by your pics you did it right. The only problem is they gave me like a ten inch 3/8th inch hose that goes from the pipe to the ccv (on top right of the valve cover). It was to short and was kinked, and so is yours. Anyways its for your crank case ventilation, and over time if its not breathing it can contribute to excessive oil burning. Hit up any auto store and grab like two ft of that 3/8th hose and use that. If i remember right one of the metal welded tubes was for the ccv, which has been taken care of. The other is a coolant line to the throttle.
Somebody correct me if Im wrong, its been a long time since Ive looked under the hood.

Yea mine is kinked too. Ive been able to get it unkinked but I check on it periodically. I need to completly fix it bc Ive been buring some oil (more then normal). Was unaware that the ccv being slightly kinked could cause that.
