Help me locate the reverse light switch on the tranny!
look on the front lower part of the trans and there is were it will be. Its almost on the bottom of the trans but up front. Hope this helps
The top picture shows the VSS.
The loose plug is likely for the back up lights switch, which should be located just rearward of your hand in the picture where you are holding the plug. Look in the area of the transmission below the distributor.

No, that's a vent tube. The switch is located just rear of that tube below the distributor. It's visible from above because it sits on top of the transmission.
If you look straight down at your tranny, it should sit at the front of it on top.
The VSS is toward the back, the Backup switch is toward the front of it

well the harness peice that your holding in the pic looks to be going to the sensor right below the slave cylinder you should be able to find it. Its black and it will have wires coming out of it.
The switch is visible when you are standing in front of the radiator. It's on the top of the transmission not the bottom. Take clear pictures of the top of the transmission just below the distributor. The switch should be sticking up from the top of the transmission not dangling from the connector.

searched OP's other threads and confirmed my suspicions that he has a b-series engine (b18c1 specifically), so the switch is on the bottom of the transmission.

I figure if the clip is dangling from the engine harness then the sensor on the tranny should be dangling as well (or it could be missing). I'll try jacking up the car tomorrow and try from underneath.
