Default Anyone experience viper 5901 losing programming???

Last winter, I did a 5901 with smart start app for iphone on a 1992 accord wagon. The car was back in the shop today, the remotes were giving the error sound, and the smart start wouldn't even communicate with the 5901. (odd, bc it runs through the bit writer port, and doesn't use the same rf code as the remotes...)

Well, checked the antenna connection, it was good, and checked for power and ground, we were all good.

I decided just to relearn the remotes, problem solved... Even the smart start app worked.

Another strange thing though... I had to reprogram the 5901 to automatic transmission, and relearn tach signal also...

And, this is the second vehicle I've had this happen with. The first was about 2 months ago, I didn't think anything about it then, but after having a second one do this, I must ask...

Anyone else dealing with this!?

Both customers say their vehicle hadn't had any work done recently also...

welcome to the DEI LE and LC3 alarms. there was an issue with the antenna for a while, and then the alarms would lose the remotes. they fixed that. the Smart Start has issues sometimes if the customer is out of month allowed tx rx, or sometimes they just need to be unplugged and plugged back in.

I remember dei sending out an update to the alarms, with v2 printed on the box, both of these vehicles have the v2 updates... Its the weirdest thing... So others are having this issue then, and Im not just the unlucky bastard here... thats good to know...

also...i think things like tach and auto mode are dependent on the transmitter setting. when you program with a bitwritter it gets fun what you can do with a viper alarm

Big problems on the first batch. Never had a issue on the v2 till yesterday. One reason is if the customer keeps pressing the button when the car is out of range. Have them use the keypad lock.
