everything's beautiful but the gloves... they seem a bit skimpy on protection. Don't get me wrong, I love alpinestars (I have sp1s) they just look like my "touching hot stuff" mechanic gloves. Also I didn't see any boots, unless you got that whole suit in the 2nd pic. I just assumed it was another view of that sexy f4i. Hope you got a really good deal... as in here come the f5s so go dump the rest of the f4i's. rubber down and get yourself some hard CE armor. Trust me. typing w/ 2 hands b/c of it.

 

I am not sure if those are exactly the gloves I got. I just looked at them real quick. They are similar though. I got all that stuff for $500 (haven't paid for the gear yet, so I may switch out the gloves for some others.) They had to order the helmet cause my head is so fricken big. Only one they had in my size was a custom pink

I already have a couple pairs of boots. None specifically for motorcycles, but very thick leather, and above the ankle of course. I have worn them on all the other motorcycles I have riden. I'll get some application specific boots once my checking account recovers a bit.

What gloves do you guys recommend? The SP-1s?

These may be the gloves. I am not sure. I didn't pay much attention to them, figured I would pick the gloves out Friday.

 

Those gloves are very similar but they dont have gauntlets... you'll need those to cover your sleeves. The finger protection and carbon/kevlar backhand protection is the same as well. I got all my gear for 600 total... $250 shoei rf900, $115 fieldsheer supersport, $110 alpinestars smx, $70 alpinestars sp1s. Just gotta shop around. Online stores will have your size always and pretty much guarenteed a better price. People always think they get deals from dealers when they buy gear w/ bikes but I got a look at some of the paperwork at work and it doesn't really end up that way. Why would they even have a pink helmet... You may very well have an arai head so prepare to pay more. Other than that you don't seem to have any terribly expensive gear. The joe rocket jacket is alright, not great. Check ebay. You heard me right, for once ebay has good stuff. Look for stunnas selling their "doesn't match my bike" new gear.

EDIT: On second comparison, my sp1s sem to have more palm protection as well.

I have no clue why they had a custom pink helmet. The kept referring to it as "his" too. So maybe some fairy with a big head wanted to look cute. Who knows.

I am going to stick with them on the helmet. I bought my last one thru mail order and it never fit right. It is worth a couple more bucks to be able to try it on. I am getting it for $250. Over half off, so that is a nice deal. They can't be sold over the net anymore so I can't really compare prices.

I'll probably get some different gloves.

I am undecided about the jacket. It is thick leather, fell good, looks good, fits right. I will prob. stick with it. $225 sound good for that? I think retail is $325 or $299.

 

300 for joe rocket? Not me. The lid ain't bad at 250. But most people try on in shop ( a real cycle shop) and then order. That way you can figure out if you're a shoei, arai, agc, hjc, etc. head. Basically arai or shoei. Just check ebay real quick for a jacket. Know your size?

I too, shall have my bike soon. I have to go down to Powersports (falcon knows) and try on some helmets, and order a Shoei online, and save lots of $.
