Icon3 help with my 1996 EX power door locks!

So i have a 1996 civic ex. I've never had a stock radio since ive owned the car, but i put in an aftermarket radio and had it for a while. my car comes equipped with power door locks but havent worked since ive owned the car. recently i had a aftermarket alarm installed in my car and i was told by the installer that i needed to maintain the factory radio for the power locks to work unfortunatly ive never had it and dont want to look for it..... which brings me to my BIG question..... Is there any way around the stock raido to connect my power door locks to my new alarm? please let me know if anyone has done this before and how exactly to do it. thanks!

Those are some mighty big red letters.

The power door locks should work via the driver's door switch and key lock without the stock radio. The stock radio is only needed for the keyless remote and the ceiling light.

Have you checked whether 20A hood fuse 51 is blown or missing?

Does the alarm system come with a remote and a receiver? If so, there should be a way to wire the power locks to the alarm system.

yes the alarm system comes with remote and does have keyless entry option, but the guy installing it at Fry's said that they needed the stock radio unit to reconnect my keyless entry.... i dont have the radio unit so how do i get around that? i dont care about the dome light turning on or off i just want my locks to unlock when i hit my alarm button on the remote.

The red text is sooo bright.

Again, did you read post #2? You first need to get the power locks working.

If the alarm system has its own receiver and remote, then I don't see a need for the stock radio and its keyless receiver. I would think that the alarm system can be wired to the unplugged 16P keyless system connector that now dangles free behind your aftermarket radio.

Look for the B connector:

RonJ@HT is correct you CAN indeed connect your power locks to your alarm system WITHOUT the factory radio. As he has already said, get your power locks working from the switches in the door first.

Ouch. This thread actually hurts to read.

I got that the OP is having door lock issues, but I had to stop reading The first post in particular is just painful to read.

Why not just type in plain, black text that's easy to read? You'll likely get more help if your posts are easy to read.

Ok so I'm starting my process of elimination... checked the fuse under the hood and its ok, I'm pulling appart the door panel to check the wires, can any one tell me what the Blue box does and how to check if its functioning properly, if its not that I will check the door lock motors next.

Does installed fuse 51 have voltage at both top test tabs? This tells you whether the fuse gets voltage and verifies that it is good.

Next test whether the power door lock control unit in the driver's door gets battery voltage on the Wht/Grn wire from fuse 51.

Haven't had much time to check the fuse but I just did and no the fuse under the hood does not get voltage. What should I do now? How do I fix that?

Are you saying that you tested both top tabs of installed fuse 51 for voltage and neither tab had voltage to body ground?

There is only power from top left tab and not the right from installed fuse 51. Also there is no power from the white/green wire running to the blue box in the door.

This means that fuse 51 is blown. Install a new fuse and then check whether it blows soon thereafter.
