Default Odd RPM during idle.

Hi, I have a 98 honda accord, V6, auto-transmission.

Just notice something odd about my car recently. After I park my car, the RPM is normal near 1000. But if I step on the pedal to rise the RPM, the RPM remain the same and don't drop back down. I gently bring the RPM to 2000 - 3000, it will go up and don't come back down. Only way it will go back down is if I put my car into Reserve, Neutral or Drive. All the fluid is fine, because I just change the motor oil and the coolant level is normal. No check engine light on and the only problem I have with the car is an old battery. Car drive fine as usually and fuel usage is the same.

Anyone ever experience the following problem before ? Feedback is appreciated, thank you.

Yes probably less than a year ago, less than 10,000 miles for sure.
Although it is a very old car, I only have 80,000 miles on it.
