Default civic/crx headlights & mirrors

are they interchangeable? i know the corner lights are different. We bought my wife a 90 Std. Hatch that has some rust in the pass side headlight. Does anyone know if we can clean it out? I'm thinking no, hence the question...

Also, she doesn't have a passenger mirror and it's peeving her, so I figured we'd get one. Do I have to get a 4g hb pass side mirror? Or can I use one from a 4 door DX or a CRX?

the headlights are the same, just different houseing. Try cleaning it out first.

As for the mirror, just pick one up at junk yard

It has to be a mirror from a hatch, CRX mirrors are different. Sendans might be the same but I highly doubt it.

I wasn't asking about the headlight bulbs, I was referring to the housings. So they are different for sure between CRX and 4g Civic hatch?

I've heard around this board that same year civic and crx headlights are the same.

They look the same to me.

But I've never pulled both out to compare....

I'm pretty sure the sedan passenger mirror is different also. That is what I have been told.

Ok, the regular non-power mirrors from a CRX will fit on the 4g hatch. The sedan ones won't. As for the headlights, the 88-89 lights will fit perfectly in a 90-91 hatch. I know, my passenger side headlight came off of an 89 CRX. And I have a passenger side mirror from a sedan and it doesn't fit right. I aslo have a CRX mirror that fits perfectly, but I don't have the reflective part to put in it. They're really hard to find around here.

Yes you can take apart the headlight and clean it out its a pain and you better make sure that you seal it well or it will leak real bad. All you have to do is heat up the assembly in the oven get it nice and hot and pull the lense off VERY carefully. I read it in hear somewhere and just decided to do it on one of my junked headlights and it did work. I had to heat it up a few times though to get it all apart cause it cooled off but I took too long trying to get it apart. But after it was nice and hot I took a putty knife and worked my way around the lense to seperate it and it work I sealed it back together with some sealing stuff from Home Depo but dont know if it leaks yet??
