Im sure if you got the piping done small enough there would be a point where a dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder would be as efficient as a single.
But the question here is why? If you are trying to make an aestethic statement sure I can understand that, but this isnt the forum to take about such things, but if you want HP a single exhaust is the only way to go.

I think the bottom line ... on even the AV6 is:
its a Y pipe, as most of you already know.
calling it a dual exhaust is being nice to it... probobly the easiest way to accomplish the OEM dual look would be to call around and find a wrecked up AV6. Take someone with a MIG welder about 3 minutes to get that on.

do av6's have equalizer pipes on them?
an h-pipe or x-pipe like we use in the mustang world (hides) might yield something for them if they dont.

Besides the fact that dual exhuast on a I4 is gay, all you have to do is buy 2 mufflers and let the exhuast shop handle the rest. I guess using 2 inch pipe would help on the loss of low end torque.

no they don't, but then again, its not a true dual exhaust system. both sides of the v6 merge into a single collector, through one cat, and then split into 2 mufflers right at the back of the car.

Those muffler shop can hook it up in 15-30 min...you can even go for tri-mufflers or something...J/k
costed around 85-100 bucks..for the installation alone..all you need is two mufflers.
be sure to ask to remove the secondary stock muffler thing under the car for
ULEV 4 cyl.

OBX makes a kit for the 4 Cyl, accords, to convert your exhuast into dual, here is a link,
its is a true bolt on setup, they claim it will increase horspwoer (not just looks)
I am new to this site, and understand that the look of the honda is not talked about,
So are there any 5 th gen accords that are turbo charged?, 4 cyl Manual?, What type of ECu you run, Stand alone?, Motech, Haltech?, I am looking into a kit or a custom setup for an everyday driven 99 accord,

For the oBx dual muffer conversion...
i looked at it in person before..if you got a 4cyl. the left muffer hinger will have nothing to hold on to. u have to go to muffler shop to do it right.
Anyone try to yank off the stock muffler before? damn that sh_t is tight..

That's what the muffler guy used at a local shop that I "frequent".
yes...try to diy it before.spray like a lake of wd-40...
wouldnt move a bit.
even the big dude at muffler shop use a crow bar
to yank off the hinger from the car.

having dual mufflers=losing back pressure.
adding two silencers=lower air flow.
what if dual mufflers with silencers? still losing performance?
plus you wouldn't have to deal with tickets and loud muffler sound on a date.jk

OK, backpressure is a myth. It was created a long time ago by the domestic guys and they never really understood it. However, now we know that maintaining exhaust gas velocity is what is important. If you choke airflow with backpressure, exhaust airflow slows down. However, if piping is too big, the air stalls out in the piping and you created the same effects as if it were restricted. The Y-Pipe creates too much backpressure, and therefore causes the loss in power. There you go, myth debunked.
