lower ball joint hitting rotor
I have a 96 civic hatch and i have skunk2 coilovers and camber kit. For some reason my lower ball joint hits my rotor when i turn. As you can see in the picture it has rubbed a hole in the shield. Has anyone ever had this problem and how do you fix it? and the hatch is not lowered that much.
ive had the problem... when undoing the ball joint.. the shiel usually gets bent towards the rotor and is scraping... which usually happens on turns but can also rub when the wheel is straight.. try and just pry the sheild away from the rotor as much as possible.... works every time, just use a screwdriver or pry bar
hmmm that's looks weird, i never had that problem or saw that happen...kinda looks like it could possibly be a bad wheel bearing. it's possible to rub but should never wear a hole through it like that
With your situation, just pull the shield away from the ball joint. There are other cases of this happening, but not with stock brake set-ups.

The wheel bearing on the pass side is brand new and it still does it there, and its not the LBJ thats hitting the shield its the LAC.
You guy's arent completely understanding wtf he's talking about... The LCA goes through the brake shield and grooves into the rotor, so it's penetrating deeper in than we can see...
Someone with an EK hatch can you go check ur LCA's and see if they curve up like that where the lower ball joint goes in... My EG's LCA goes straight it doesn't have that little curve up near the outer end..

Yeah that's what I'm saying... This is my cousins EK hatch "drtysoufchevy" so I'm trying to help him out a bit here but he lives across state or this issue would be fixed already hahaha... Naa but seriously, to me I think those are possibly the wrong LCA's or wrong Camber Kit making them touch at the bottom like that... When the front wheel is cambered in, it doesn't touch he said, but when the camber is set at 0 and the wheel is straight up/down it touches like we see in the pics... I can only imagine all the lovely noises that must make while doing 90 on I-75 lol...
