Rear brake upgrade for my Type R
I decided to do the fast brakes NSX rear brake upgrade on my Type R to match the fronts. I will be installing them on the car within the week, but wanted to post a pic to show how the hardware looks. Still haven't decided if I wanted to do a write up on the installation yet but I will snap a few pics once there installed. Those are an extra set of front NSX calipers I have laying around

I'd like to see a write up! I always have liked the look of NSX calipers nicely painted for some reason (not that brake upgrades are for looks, but they look cool too
).
).
They are from a 97 and up NSX, but the calipers bolt up right to the 23t or 25t brackets. Brian from fast brakes told me that I could use a Acura RL brake rotor and they will bolt up fine but I have to run a bigger wheel.
I'll def try to do a write up, an I might even do 2 sets of pics one with the white and the other with the gunmetal type r rims.

if you do the rears, u might want to consider an adjustable rear brake bias...it will help...many NSX owners have done this when they upgrade their brakes to Brembo. It helps to get rid of the overwhelming factory front bias.
Why are you upgrading the hardware on your rear brakes? Is this a looks-only thing or do you feel you need more braking out back?
Personally, I've dropped the aggressiveness on my rear pads because I was getting too much rear braking, which was upsetting the car.

Todd, I think he means he used the rear NSX brake calipers on the front of his ITR. I don't know why anyone would put them on the back without having them (or something more aggressive) on the front.
My car has a lot of front brake bias, I actually took out the mintex pads and replaced them with stock pads. I'm planning on tracking the car, so I want to see how well the rears will do
No I have the front NSX calipers on my car, and I'm upgrading the rears to NSX calipers also
Did you try more aggressive pads in the rear? Seems that you're adding complextivity (is that a word?) and weight for something a simple set of different rear pads would do.
I have tried multiple pads but, the car is still front bias I want to put more braking in the rear to make it balanced
They front NSX calipers clear the stock 15" type R wheels no probs. But the rear I'm not too sure if I need to run a spacer so the caliper doesn't hit the spokes on the rim. If so I do have extended studs on the car and a set of 3mm spacers laying around
this will be interesting to see.. i would think that upgrading the rears would make the bite too much for the rear.. never seen it done before though so i cant say anything =D.. looking forward to seeing it done though..
People put BBK's on their ITRs all the time, different dual-piston calipers (Spoons), etc. and don't have any problem with brake bias that a correct set of pads can't fix.
Are you still running ABS? What is it that your car is doing to make you think it is a brake bias issue?
I guess what I'm getting at is that you should look at other factors if your brake bias is *that* far off.

I still have abs, but I feel that under extremely hard braking the front of the car takes a nose dive. I want to see how the rear nsx calipers will perform under these situations. I'm very familiar with big brake kits i have the 6 piston front and 4 piston rear kit on my s4 so i know the bbk kit acts under hard and normal braking.
Are you on OEM suspension?
Seriously, you're the only person I've heard of with brake bias problems on a 'streetable' ITR. That's why I'm wondering what else is going on. Also note that the s4 will probably be a different animal under hard breaking than any FF Honda will be.
Stock ITRs with upgraded pads and sticky tires take serious nose-dives when you nail the brakes--the stock brakes are just that good.
