Default Car covers - Need advice/opinions

I've been thinking about getting a car cover for the last week or so, but I don't know if it will do more good than harm. I only find myself driving my car 3-4 times a week and it's always outside. I tend to wash my car every week or week and a half, but I cringe at the site of my car getting dirty when I don't get the time to wash it. I figure this might slow down the soft/weak paint damage that the 8th gens are known for.

What do you guys here think about it? Worth the money or not? More harm than good? If it's worth it for me, should I go OEM or another manufacturer? I've tried searching for older threads that might provide more insight, but they were made in 2007. I hope that with 3 years time there have been some advancements. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

For your situation, I'd advise against it. If you only drove a couple times every few weeks then yes. But after your each drive after a wash, you collect dirt. Putting on and taking off the cover would push all the dirt into the paint etc. You're already washing your car regularly. Just my opinion.

Should you opt to get one, go OEM.
