D16Y8 intake manifold bolt on to a A6 head?
I heard the D16Y8 intake manifold is a bit better than the A6 head. Do they bolt on to a A6 engine? And if so, is getting a Y8 manifold basically the same as porting a A6 intake manifold?

I'm a little bit confused on what your trying to say....
The Y8 manifold does bolt onto the A6 head (I know because I put one on mine), and it is better than the A6 manifold - but how much of a performance gain you'll get depends on what other mods you have.
Installation of a Y8 manifold is a little bit different than just throwing on another A6 manifold. A few vacuum hoses must be relocated, IAT sensor must be relocated, and you can toss your old map sensor, and use the new Y8 one. Plus you must use your A6 injectors.
There are quite a few small factors to this swap, but once you get going on the project and figure out how everything works - it's not too difficult.
Hope this helps....
I have heard that the D16y8 Intake Manifold is the Type R of the D-series. The runners are much shorter and bigger than the A6 manifold. But like Mr. Todd says, you'll have to extend your map sensor wires to the Y8 T-body, reroute houses, and you'll have to figure out how to mount an intake air temp sensor, because the Y8 cars have it in the air inlet tube.
