where should i set rev-limiter

Default where should i set rev-limiter

i've got a b20vtec in a 89 hb, i'm gonna send my ecu off to get chipped but i was wondering where should i get my rev limiter set at. hit me back

The valve train is usually the main determining factor for revs. Is yours all stock? Which head?

its a b16a head, stock valve train.

dont rev over 8ish, those b20Vtecs arent known for revving high.. so anything over/yet close to 8

You get some valve springs and retainers and you can take her up to 9+

9k...are you sure? what if he doesn't have a block girdle? then you just told him to destroy his motor...oh and did you upgrade your oilpump to a higher flow oilpump? what about waterpump? did you get your engine fully balanced? questions like this determine how long your motor is going to last but...to tell where to set your revlimiter you'll essentually have to put the thing on a dyno. that is of course after you have everything else sorted out...

I have a built B18C1 and I don't exceed 9.3k. I doubt you'll find a setup that makes much power beyond that anyway, so why risk it? Hitting 10k+ routinely with a B20 is surely a bad idea.
