Changing ECU what else do I need
I have a 97 Accord I recently did a motor swap. The newer engine is a F22B from a 95 Accord where the Crank sensor, TDC sensor are in the distributor as opposed to the F22B2 they are on the block by the crank. I later found out that the F22B2 is OBD2 and the F22B is OBD1 so I tried everything to make this engine work and 3 months later I decided to buy the ECU and TCU to go with the newer engine. I also have purchased the engine harness from ECU and the harness that goes from ECU to TCU what else would I need. The engines are SOHC non-vtec

Is the engine running now?
If it is running there is no need to switch the ECU or TCU. Other than style of OBD, they will run the motor and trans the same.
If it's not running you could wire the TDC & CKP sensors from the distributor to the OBD2 ECU. Using the existing wire harness going to the oil pump housing. Might be less work to do it that way than it would be to swap out the complete OBD2 harness for an OBD1 harness?????
If the OBD1 engine harness connector plugs directly into the OBD2 strut tower connector that would make things easy.

yes, i rerouted the wires for the CKP and TDC. The engine runs for about 5 seconds then dies and it sounds horrible. The problem I had was the distibutor harness wouldnt fit on the newer motor because it is internal coil my old one isnt.

I realize that it's a 95 OBD1 JDM F22B. Is it a,
SOHC F22B Non VTEC (USDM F22B2)
SOHC F22B VTEC (USDM F22B1) or
DOHC F22B Non VTEC (No US counterpart)
The JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) engine codes do not include the sub codes like the USDM/EDM blocks do.

OK so you know it is the same as the 94-95 USDM F22B2. The parts are all the same. So if you want to start cross referencing electrical and mechanical issues that would be where to look. You should find the manuals for both the 94-95 OBD1 Accord and the 96-97 OBD2 Accord. They will help you trouble shoot any problems that you may be having.
