please any info high compression 13.1 +turbo octane enough?

Default please any info high compression 13.1 +turbo octane enough?

i really want to boost my set up,but octane really worries me.will e85 cut it?

please anyone,tuners,someone with any experiance!

cams can be changed as i have a set of b16 and gsr.can pick up a set of type r's

it all boils down to cylinder pressure. all other things equal, including boost level, then a higher compression ratio will lead to higher cylinder pressure. that means you'll make more power on less boost. However 13:1 compression is quite high even for a naturally aspirated engine so you would be limited to only running a small amount of boost. that being said it would be incredibly difficult to tune well without detonation. I would also be worried about the shape of the piston creating hot spots which could lead to pre-ignition.

bottom line, most people here will say don't do it and personally I am one of them. If you need to go boost then sell this motor or rebuild it with some 9/10:1 pistons.
