I will purchasing new suspension ($650) and tires ($400) for my car tomorrow and I was wanting to get some advice. Here is what I know. I'm not going to slam my ej. I want a comfortable ride and the drop won't be drastic. Just a slight drop to make my 195/55/15's look respectable. I was just going to get my tires from tire rack (Yokohama s drive.) and was also looking at getting ff type 1 coil overs. I am leaning to these because of the comfy spring rate and i have read many positive reviews on them. i also like the idea of being able to raise or drop my car if i ever desire to. Now what does Honda tech think about this decision? Should i be looking at any other options. Thanks inn advance for the help guys.
save 149 and get the koni gc package, tires in 195 55 15, the dunlop star specs are your best performers. in 205 50 15, i would lean on the yokohama ad08
this advice is given from a purely performance standpoint. other goals would change this, especially in tires.

Eibach sport kit. Shocks/springs.
Type 1's are ok for the money. But they really dont do much more then slam your car and ride decently.
Tires are fine. Im runing 65's and i only rub a tad in my drive way in the rear. BTW, drive way is horrible and i rarely rub.

Where is the best place to look for koni/gc? I know a lot of people swear by this setup. I was checking out tokico blues with tein s techs too. Any one else want to drop some knowledge on me?

you could always pick up a set of used koni/gc setup.
Or I've been reading into the Progress CS-II coilovers. They're $579 shipped in the sponsor market place and you get to pick your rates. I'm half-tempted to get those. But for similar money I could easily pick up a set of used koni GC, and the Konis are adjustable.

Im on 14's now but I was on 15's and didn't rub with 195 55 15's.
tucking tops in front 1 gap finger in back.
Check thmotorsports. They normally have good prices on koni/gc.

I actually got tires cheaper then I thought. 310 for Yokohama s drive 195/50/15's. Still trying to decide on suspension though. 800$ is just too high for me right now as sadly I'm a student so I'm trying to survive on most comfy/cost effective drop possible. Any word on tokico blues and tein springs. Teins have a comfy spring rate and I hear mixed reviews on tokico blues. Anyone have actual experience that they want to share?
www.thmotorsports.com has the best prices on the koni sports and ground controls
799 shipped with your choice of rates
if you want to go cheap the s or h tech and str.t is a well matched combo.
If you're really antsy for a kit now. The Progress CS-II are $579 shipped and you can choose your own rates. That's definitely the cheapest coilover I'd buy, and I have a solid level of confidence in the kit after what I've read over the last few days.

Thanks for the help guys. I went Yokohama s drive 195/50/15, koni str.t shocks, and tein s tech springs. I got a really good price so I picked up some new ball joints too.
mmm if he's after ride quality the tein lowering springs are great on 94-01 tegs. all based off itr rates and progressive. the progressive part is a comfort adder you won't get with linear
I bought a set of CSII's from progress. Right now, all I have are qualitative comments, but the ride home was good. The coil-over is solidly constructed. They were easy to put on the car and very easy to adjust. I have the autocross/drag launch kit. The ride can be a little bouncy relative to a semi-stock suspension.
