Default 5th gen running crappy/cutting out

I've been having a problem the past few month with my 5th gen SH 5 spd. Usually within the first 15 mins of driving the car sometimes has a sudden loss in power and will act as if i was pulsing the throttle from about 1/3 to nothing and back numerous times. Other times in addition to this, I will have a 1-3 second complete loss of power. It just bogs down if i keep my foot on the gas. I almost was t-boned pulling into a road because the car just wouldn't go after i got to the middle of the opposite lane. when i get the power back it's sudden and the car will jump forward. sometimes it will do it again, or hesitate as described earlier.

I'm not sure what my problem is. My friend suggested that it might possibly be the distributor. any way to test this without swapping/buying a new one? I just brought the car in and got my ignition switch recall done and a free tune-up which got me plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil change, ECU scan. The scan came through clean then, and i still don't have a CEL at all. Any idea what the issues could be? I had almost the same issue on my '92 4WS that I swapped an H22 into and it just kinda went away on it's own while I was trying to track it down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the 2nd topic i've started about problems with this car TONIGHT! i'm hoping a 3rd one will not be necessary..

Sounds fuel related. Check fuel pressure, and clean or replace fuel filter
