Default My Trip to Europe

Well, let me start off by saying it's nice to be home.... where almost everyone speaks english, I know where I'm going and the gas is cheap. Although let me make it clear, European people are good people I had a blast.... Only complaint I have is driving in Italy..... signs are very small compared to our big green "directions for dummies" signs that we have out here. They are placed anywhere and at any level and they are all in italian. I met with Rex-VT in Amsterdam and he hooked me up with Left Hand Drive power window kits in exchange for an Apex V-afc. Let me just say Rex-VT is one cool cat. He took me out for a ride in his 'Rex (beautiful car) and out to one of only two performance shops in Holland. They had some pretty nice cars there, and all the folks at the shop were cool as hell.... During my trek through 3 countries in 10 days I seen approx 10-12 CRX's and about 4 Hatch's. Honda's are no where near as common out there as they are here and they have quite a few different models too.... for example I seen a 5th gen hatchback that came in a 1.4is model. All the civic sedans I came across were actually 5 doors. Came across a few CRV's. but didn't see one Honda Dealer. All in all I had a blast.... for all those looking to do business with Rex-VT he is a stand up guy! By the way Kurt if you're reading this did you get the V-afc installed yet? and thanks again for the hook up and showing me around, next time I come out we'll have to hang out again......

Good to read you made it back from Italy save cuz if you think the drivers on the ring of Amsterdam were bad.....Boarders I think Brian got scared of the idiotic highway (freeway as you call them) speeds which are an average of 80-100mph

For the record Brian , I drove pretty normal that day

I forgot to hook you up with the power window relays and there is another wiring harness running from the door to the relays.. I also found the small plastic covers for the power window operating .. If you hook me up with your adress I will send them to you..

I also found out you could have cut the leather part out the doorpanels by cutting the plastic ***** on the back.. this would have saved you a lot of weight and effort.

The Apexi is in and I managed to get the engine in check light because I used 12-15% fuel correction and that's more than the ECU can handle..

Talk to you later

Were else have you been? You said 3 countries: Netherlands, Italy...and maybe Switzerland?

Italy is crazy, but if you understand the rules and drive like them it can also be a lot of fun

Kurt,

Driving in Holland would have been no problem... I can understand the signs there.. Italy however was a whole different story. I really wasn't that worried when you were driving that day cause for one.... it's all in kilometers, so I didn't really know how fast I was going.... and second you're roll cage gives you a little bit extra sense of security.. and your car felt like it could stop on a dime.... and the sound of VTEC in a CRX makes me drool...

I went to the Dutch Post Office to try and mail those door panels back to the USA and they told me that they were too big.... so I ended lugging them to London and then all the way home.... but those panels are sweet and I can't wait to get them put in. Since my seat belts are in my doors I'm going to have to relocate them to the pillar mount style found in the 88 Si's. I will e-mail you with my address shortly. Lemme know if you need any money for shipping and I'll send it out to you... Thanks again and if you ever need anything from out here let me know and I'll take care of it...

Why not go for the B18c6 now and add the charger to that later on down the road...And when that time comes, you want me to get it for you here and send it to you, let me know....

Did you get my e-mail with my address? Did you already put the CRX away for the winter? I'd go thru withdrawals if I couldn't drive my car for that long....!!!
