Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?
Ok, I have a DC sports 4-2-1 header so no cat, then I only have one O2 sensor. I went to vatozone today to get a new one just for ***** and giggles while the motor is out and he asked If I wanted the one before or after the cat. Well I didn't know which one I would need, I would ASSUME the one before, but I wasn't sure. When I told him about the no cat thing and how hella JDM it is (joking) and he said it would be better to just not run one. He said I would get better MPG and HP. Now I'm no genius, but ****... this sounds WAY wrong. I have plenty of O2 bung plugs, so blocking it is no issue, and I would rather not run it if I don't have to because I would like to use that bung for my wideband, but if I need to run it I will. So what all do you guys think, and yeah, I know I'm going to have to run the O2 sensor, well at least 99% sure, lol.
Well I don't have a 2nd bung, that was throwing me off, and the one I do have is where I would normally have the 2nd one, it's behind the motor straight below the intake manifold.

How else would you get accurate air/fuel ratios?
The autozone person is a total moron, OBD1 motors only have 1 O2 sensor, don't buy the other one thinking it'll work either because it's different.

Where do I find the engine code to find out what year car my motor came out of? I have just been buying 96 prelude parts, but honestly have no idea. I assume I am OBD1, but the 96 and up are OBD2 right?

Second, your car will run like absolute ****.
I'm really not sure why you Civic owners do much of any of the crap you do, but this is at the top of the things that bug me.
Why would you even bother to give an incomplete chassis code as an answer to what vehicle you have? I'm not picking on you, just pointing out logic in a general sense. However, saying that you have an EG or EK is only as descriptive as saying "I have a Civic from the 90s". Just for the EG range of codes, there are like 25 different motors available across the B and D series. The body styles also vary between 3D and 4D.
Have you ever asked a Prelude owner what they drive and the response was "BB"? That alone would be way more descriptive than simply "EG", even though "BB" spans two very different generations of Preludes. That's because the Prelude only comes in one body configuration (coupe) and only a few motor options. Do you see what I'm saying?
Anyway, carry on.

Well my civic came with a 1.6 liter v-tec motor, but the v-tec was wired straight to the p-28 ECU he had in it. I don't think it came in it though, more than likely it came with the 1.5, but I'm not really sure. I have only had a civic for a few weeks now
Negative. It's still an H23A1. The H23A2 is the nearly identical European version, offered from 1992 to 1996.
First, "what" has a ****ing H.

Trolling should at least involve some useful info.
As for the topic of the thread, running without an o2 sensor is retarded. Your car would run like crap at partial throttle, any tuner or auto parts counter jockey who says otherwise needs a swift kick to the cherries.
