Default B16 misfire

When I drive my car at any type of throttle at 2500rpm or lower, the car sputters as if it were misfiring. And it only does it on idle when the a/c is on. My a/c also at times does not cool properly. All cylinders are firing. Plugs wires and dizzy have been replaced. Problem started two months after the car had been sitting for 5 months. Could this be fuel or timing? And if so, what should the timing be set at?

When the A/C is on, does the condenser fan run? Did you recently have any A/C work done?

No recent a/c work. Only distributor work has been done in the last month.

Hook up a manifold gauge set. You will likely find excess pressure on the high side. This could be caused by a system overcharged with refrigerant, air in the system, or a restriction that is preventing proper refrigerant flow in the system.

I'll try that but what about the rpm drops? Could it be the fitv that's dirty? I have and obd1 b16 from a del sol.

I didn't think you had a low idle problem because you mentioned sputtering problems even up to 2500 rpm. When the A/C is not on, is the idle speed low?

High pressure in the A/C system would greatly increase engine load and drop the engine rpm.

Idle is fine with the a/c off. Except when the engine is cold the idle bounces from 1400 to 1800 until warm
