Integra Rear Hatch Stuck!
Hey guys, I tried searching for the following question, but found nothing I could use. My buddy has a 99 teg (2 door), and we can't get his hatch/trunk open! When we slide the lever under the handle, it doesn't make the usual "release" sound. The doors are unlocked so its not that. We tried everything, it just seems as if that latch isn't catching. Is there any way to get the hatch open from inside the car? I have a 95 so I have the release inside the car and never have had this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
i had the same problem with my 00' type r and all i did is use the key and turn it all the way clockwise and then move the trunk switch while the key is all the way turned. i don't have that problem now since i replaced the actuator in the trunk. here's a good write up on replacing the actuator in case you need it. http://www.team-integra.net/sections...ArticleID=1117

No need for the lever if you turn the key far enough. It's what I have to do in my 00 GSR.
Otherwise, it is a relatively easy enough task to replace the actuator, but I can never justify the price over an inconvenience.

Once you get your hatch open, take the panel out that covers the hatch actuator.
Look closely at the plastic clips that are snapped on to the rods of the actuator.
One might have slipped off.
Also, if you leave the panel off and the hatch won't open, you can crawl in from the back seat to slide the actuator rod. that's when you spend $60 and replace the actuator.
