so during the week, i believe it was on thursday, i was going to school on the 605N and ran into what could possibly be an ITR, but i wasnt too sure since i cant count the lug nuts while the car is moving at freeway speeds, but it had no side moldings on it with ITR emblems, so i figured its an ITR. anyways, either the owner is a bad driver, or its not really an ITR because as he downshifted so did i, but i was behind him and caught up to him and could have passed him up if we didnt end up catching traffic. so from that experience, i realized the ITR is really all hype, if it truly was an ITR. i tried to play with a yellow one on the freeway one time, but he didnt take the bait.
so b20 mated with a gsr tranny>ITR

uhmmm....really? you think because you have a built b20 with GSR tranny that you can take on an ITR from a stop light? i bow down to you, mr. street racer-xtreme. please, take it to the track and see how well you do.

and not all ITR owners like to speed and make themselves attractive to cops. in fact, yesterday i was on i-78 going about 85 (keeping up with traffic flow), and my exit was about 3/4 mi away, so i slowed and merged to the right lane, going about 75. a cop was behind me before i made that lane change. when he passed me, i look at him and he look at me (lol moment, he be checking out my ITR), and i had plenty of hemi pickups passing me. i didnt care, the fact that i am fortunate enough to be driving an ITR is already a win.

the point of this nonsense and stupidity is to show ur ITR's are all hype. and no, my engine is not built, all i have is just basic boltons (i/h/e), and yes, i do believe i can smash on a hype r from a stop. not that im bragging or anything, but i know i can launch my car pretty good. i dont just dump the clutch and go, ive learned how to feather out the clutch and give it gas at the same time to get a better launch. i take it to the track as well, i love going to irwindale on thurs. nights, i just havent in a long time. and im not always speeding, i drive speed limit mostly all of the time. i just like to have fun every once in awhile and see what my car can do against other cars out on the road. and my integra is just my dd, so its not like i think its fast or anything, i just like surprising people on the road with it that think theyre faster than me. and im not hating on what i cant get, i actually thought of owning an itr, but i just realized how overhyped they are, so my thoughts have changed.

you can call it overhyped once you've driven one. i bet youre one of those "0-60 muhhh fukkka! " idiots. in case you didnt know, the ITR is not a 0-60 car. and when i say 'track' i dont mean 'drag'. i mean track with turns. the ITR will outhandle you there anyday, provided the driver knows how to drive.

anyway, i have no idea why i'm even posting this BUT i will for the fun of it.

a b20 with a vtec head and smaller oem cams like gsr, b16s etc will make similar power to an itr b18c, they just happen to be 10x more likely to fly apart

a stock b20 would have to be installed in a stripped gen1 rabbit to have the power to weight ratio to even try beating an R

 

actually, to be quite honest with u, i would love to take it to willowsprings and test my real driving ability on the track. anybody can go fast in a straight line. i want to modify my suspension next to get better handling out of this thing, and then show u guys that i can own a hype r on the track as well as on the canyons. and yeah, i know hype r's are track cars, not straight line cars, but this one tried me on the freeway and failed.

 

Because of your 1 experience with a car that may, or may not have been an itr you've made this conclusion...wow...

If the Type-R was all hype, I wonder why Honda decided to produce it as its topline model. I guess they were stupid to put all that development into the R. Instead they should have slapped VTEC into an LS and call it a day.
