Y8 nagging

Sup ht, I got a 97 civic ex n it's running naggy bad, my buddy has a 96 dx coupe also and when we run he beats me by 2 cars or more in the 1/4. Where do I start checking cause this is unbelievable

You can start by adding valuable info that we can use. Not naggy bad. wtf?

yeah what's it doing? maybe check timing, fuel pressure, spark plugs to name a few simple starting points.

K the car like struggles in the lower rpm but around 5k it picks up. He has a clutch and mine is a stock clutch that's the only difference

This is imbarassing having a dx beat me n still pulling away.

Timing is good and spark plugs n wires are new.

Have you checked the cap and rotor? Did you check the ignition timing with a timing gun?

Any CEL codes?
