Default Igntion lock assembly replacement

I own a 2003 Odyssey. I just replaced a bad ignition lock assembly, myself. Can't get a straight answer as to whether I can have the new key that came with the new assembly reprogramed or do I need to have the vehicle towed and the immobilzer or van itself reprogrammed. Can anyone help?
The first answer I got was just the key from the parts guy.....but when I spoke with someone else they said tow the veh it needs to be at the dealer to be reprogrammed.....

I dont have the actual procedure at hand, but I think there is a procedure that you can do to reprogram several new FOB's yourself. First you need to do a search and let everyone know that you have spent some serious time online to attempt to find the correct answer, either do it yourself or take it to the shop will be the answer. If its DIY then maybe you wont exactly understand how to do it so list the procedure and then ask for help after you have tried it yourself.
