Hello all / couple of questions
2nd post but let me introduce myself. name is Ron and am new to Honda's, at least working on them. I have 2 Accords. a 1991 and 1992. The 1991 I bought for $400. and is bone stock and runs ok but needs some work.
The 1992 was given to me by the same guy I bought the other one from. Doesn't run at the moment. No spark, he thought the timing belt broke and didn't want to mess with it. Turns out to belt is ok.
Question is with all the research I have done for the 1992 motor it should have a F22A1 but has a F20A SOHC motor in it which as far as I can tell was not factory installed in the US. my guess is motor must of been swapped at one point. Numbers on motor are F20A 1873225.
Since there is no spark, all electronics work by the way, motor turns over ect., should I get another whole distributor or just try and change the igniter or something else? Also took the old distributor out and no numbers on this thing. What are the correct numbers for replacement distributor for an F20A?
any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ron

i would first off check all ground leads. check cap and rotor for any corrosion and main relay under dash.. then check if it has fuel delivery. take the banjo bolt off the fuel rail and cycle it once and check the rail if there is fuel.
Before you spend the money buying a whole distributor, 3 things every car needs fuel air and spark. Air is a given. So make sure you get fuel pressure to the fuel rail and injectors. That would eliminate alot of things right off the bat. check your igniter like you said and make sure you got power to the coil. check your pcm main relay, go threw all this and come back if your still confused to whats wrong. A helms or haynes manuel will help you with alot of the procedures in doing all this.
