Soundgate iPod control help for Accord
Hi there,
I have a 2006 Honda Accord and I have been unsuccessful so far at getting the Soundgate HONPDSDR I bought to work.
I followed the instructions but I'm wondering if my car is incompatible (box sais all '06 should be good) since i have a tape deck instead of the XM option? I don't have nav, satellite radio or the external cd changer. I have the internal 6 disc changer and cassette player.
I have tried several configurations of the 3 cables and nothing is working so far. My ipod IS getting power though. It turns itself on when I turn on the car so at least that's encouraging. Strangely enough I plugged the tape deck back in once to make sure it worked and then swapped my ipod and it worked! I thought I'd solved it but once I switched over to FM and CD it refused to switch back to tape mode again, ugh.
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!

Nope, some others have the CD/AUX/FM button while mine just has a CD/AUX button.
It looks like the head unit in this tutorial for a different interface: http://homepage.mac.com/davewiller/I...toAlbum15.html

I think you have the wrong unit. This units clones itself as the units your radio does not have.
Well crap... the manual sais it works with ones without factory satellite radio. What one SHOULD I have gotten so I can sell this one to someone else and get the right one?
I want to route the control cable from the head unit up through the center console. It would be nice to retain usability of the tape deck but not a deal breaker. Suggestions welcome, my head was swimming before with too many options and no good knowledge of what works best for my application. Which obviously led me astray into buying the wrong one! Ooops! I would prefer one that uses the pin connector on the bottom and not the headphone jack.

Let me see what I have at the shop and I will trade you so you don't have to spend anymore cash. I might have one that you need.

Maybe something like this - http://www.usaspec.com/product.php?P...eShowProduct=1 Seems more plug and play?
Ah! It works! Don't know why or what I did differently but after disconnecting the battery I guess I finally got it right! Didn't need the HONSAT harnass and used CD Emulation mode with the switches 1 up, 1 down. Pretty sure I tried it this way before but for whatever reason it now works and so does the cassette and cd's still!
Thanks so much for your help!
