Default Loud Vtec

hey guys just have a quick question see if any one can help.. i use to own a 00 civic si b16a2 and i remember that when vtec kicked in, it kicked in hard lots of ppl would tell me that my vtec was loud... now i have a jdm type r in my 93 civic hatchback and was wondering what can i do to make the vtec sound loud.. is there such thing of makin a vtec sound louder or was i just lucky and got one of a kind vtec..

Hook up an 5000w amp to it. Shuld be heard across town. Report back.

The only things that can make the VTEC crossover more distinct is intake and exhaust. VTEC is supposed to be a smooth transition. Not a "kick" or a "pop". The motor does get louder though.

yeah well every time it engaged it was loud... all i had was a short ram injen intake and 2 1/2 inch piping

Exactly what I just said makes it loud. Does your ITR motor have these mods?

yes it does but i have the 3 inch aem cold air intake not a short ram... i was thinkin maybe the b16 had a bigger vtec spool that made it sound louder but i not 100% sure if thats what cause it to be louder

I think it mostly has to do with the lack of stroke from the b16 bottom end.

port and polish the head, Port match the intake manifold, and get some headers.

COLD AIR INTAKE SOUNDS A LIL BETTER IF YOUR GOING FOR SOUND....
BETTER CAMS WITH STRONGER LOBES WILL MAKE THE CROSSOVER TO VTEC ALOT MORE DISTINCT... CAMS IS EVERYTHING REALLY
