Someone told me my vtec engine is like a type R?

Did he mean it is the engine that would go On a type R?

 

If you have a GSR with the stock B18C1, then the only comparison is that it uses the same bare block and shares the same displacement, engine series (b-series), and DOHC VTEC. Other than that, the B18C5 (ITR) is a completely different motor from a B18C1.
