Clutch problems

I got a friend with a 98 Honda Accord, releases clutch and car barely accelerates and you smell something burning like oil. IDK wats wrong with it but would it be a bad clutch or release bearing?

id put my money on a bad clutch. either way both should be replaced when doing a clutch job.

Sounds like a faulty clutch to me, but always start with the basics like making sure the hydaulic system is in proper working order first.
