Default M&H Drag Radials vs. Nitto Drag Radials

So I'm currently using nitto drag radials and they have an average treadlife expectancy of around 5,000 miles. I am considering going with an M&H drag radial as my next set of tires. Does anyone happen to know if M&H drag radials will last a while on the street? I like to drive my car, but don't want a set of drag radials that will go bald within a couple of thousand miles....

anyone care to share some experience?

Then you're probably better off with a really sticky street tire like the Star Spec, RE-11, XS, etc., instead of drag radials. They'll all last you around 15K miles on the street. Get a separate pair of drag radials and wheels, and use them only at the dragstrip.
