Was wondering if anyone knows wether the Japan built cars are compatible with the US built cars? This is what I mean, I have an '03 accord Jpan built and need both front ABS sensors. The sensors come in both versions, US and Japan builds. I would like to use the US versions as they are cheaper. Does anybody know if they crossreference? Dealer says no...but then again, they would never recomend anything deviate from stock!

I have a civic and the American a Japanese built parts are EXACTLY the same for my car. I would assume it's the same for uours.

 

I wish that was true because I could sell a lot more parts if I could use the North American parts for the Japanese parts. Needed a windshield for a customer, he had a Jpn built Civic. Ordered the N.A. built unit and of course the glass company couldn't get it to fit...we had already quoted the job so we lost big. I am not saying EVERY part is different, in fact on the ABS it could just be how it's mounted/clipped. But before you order the part, make sure the dealer is willing to return an electrical part. Most are not.

 

exactly my fear! it could be simple, or it could just throw a code because it's incompatible even thought it fits! thanks for the feed back, guys...
