Opinions on Crome please!!
Sup fellas.....heres my deal. I have chrome on a p28, golden eagle sleeved fully built jg head garret 60-1 .70 trim, and if course all the other goodies. Im lookin for good power but reliability is my main issue. Ive always been a hondata fan but im debating on wether i should tune my car with what i have or spend the $$ for the hondata and tune with that?? Car is daily driven, MYT see the track once or twice a year. Opinions and facts please....thanks

Yea bro...alot of $$ in the motor, dnt want to have a cheap tune, i just dont know about anything other than hondata and of course hondata the most expensive one! Haha im just lookin for help on the systems cuz if the only difference are the options? Hell its not gonna be a track car.....no what i mean
eCtune doesn't have On Board Logging and quite a few other options as it hasn't been worked on in a progressive capacity for quite a while now. Get Hondata or NepTune.
My tuners are both basically sayn to go with what i prefer. Thats why i posted here to get you guys opinions on the actual systems.
As for neptune, do i need the "on board datalogging" ? I mean like after it gets tuned, i personally am not gonna mess with it. Only if i change something, then ill take it bak to same tuner.

I guess what im tryn to say is somewhere along the lines of like do i need all the "options" if im just gonna daily it? Im sure ill run it a few times on track and quite a few times on the street but are the options for the tuner, the track or for a better more reliable tune?

Hmmmmm ok so im gettin advice on what to change too....any reasons/opinions on chrome? Experience with it? Why its not liked or liked or??
On Board Logging is not a necessity, but it can come in very handy if you need it. NepTune is the same price as eCtune and NepTune has On Board Logging, Anti-Theft, and some other features that eCtune doesn't offer. NepTune will also save you $100 over S300.

You just need a socketed ECU. Here's the install video and tutorials.

I tuned alot of cars on crome and freelog.I would never buy crome. the software dont have the customer support or features of the others out there. It was what i started tuning with. I think it a ok software I have not blown up a engine with it yet. I have tuned neptune, ectune and hondata. I use ectune and neptune on my cars now and love it. But i would think i could just as easy blow my car up with ectune or neptune as i could crome.
Crome is a great piece of software if you know what your doing. I have tuned anything from mildly built d16's to fully built and boosted B series to 800+whp with it. First time I ever used it was on a built b18c with gt35r turbo and made 438whp @ 17psi on 91oct, I was hooked after that. I will warn you to take full advantage of what crome can do you need to know how to write your own software scripts.
So its boiling down to the "tuner" s preference huh? But what i (the driver/owner of the car) am trying to figure out is....is it a safe tune? If the "tuner" says, yea i can tune your car on chrome. After its tuned, is it a safe tune for me to drive around with? Or is it gonna flip out one day and just drive like **** or something crazy like that? Sorry if im not making my question understandable.....
Crome has been used for years and clearly works, but it has its quirks and bugs.
If you spent the money on the build, spend the money on Neptune, features/price its unbeatable.

bottom line......I already have chrome...........should i stay with it and retune or get rid of it for neptune or hondata? Tuner im going to says he will tune either 1...i just dont wants no "bugs or quirks" to blow my **** up! Lol
On Board Logging means it takes the logs without a laptop connected based on parameters you specify and allows you to download them later. It can come in very handy.
