I just bought a '92 VX. It has the black rubber bumpstrip molding things on the sides. I always thought VXs and CXs all came without these.

The car IS a VX. It has the engine, wheels, gauge cluster, and badge on the tailgate. It's a completely original car, owned by an older woman.

The molding looks factory, not like a previous owner just stuck them on there.

Was this some kind of option?

Anyone else seen this?

 

Some had dealer installed stick on moulding. Its not factory honda though. If its clip on someone went to the trouble of cutting out the square holes themselves.

 

Thanks! It really had me scratching my head. The strips don't bother me, and I figure it has probably saved the body from some dings over the years.

 

There was a thread about this last week or so, where someone had the same thing. Think it ended up being a Canadian VX, that came with clip-on moldings.

 

Canadian VXs didn't come with side mouldings either. They also didn't have airbags.
