Default Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services

Hello all I just recently picked up a 2000 s2k with 145000 miles on it. Besides routine maintenance is there anything else I should try to replace or upgrade to improve the longevity. Please no douchebags saying "google". Whats the point of having a car specific website/thread if people new to the game cant ask questions to guy who have been in for awhile. This is my first s2000.

Routine maintenance and you you should be fine, its really about how hard you drive and how often you break things... oil, tranny and diff fluid, proper tires etc you should be fine

is the car stock? if it's had mods, then make sure they were done well, otherwise they're a pretty solid car if looked after. There are a few threads on here (pretty recent ones too) with advice on what to check - most recommend a compression test straight away..

tranny, diff, engine oil, make sure you run synthetic oil, only 93 octance, honda pcx oil filter made for the f20c. coolant flush. always check all the fuses. check the cat if its still there with all those miles... change spark plugs check cooling fan and slave cylinder for leaks. and brake pads just a simple walk through should be ready to go!

If not already done, I'd consider upgrading the valve spring retainers and keepers and oil jet bolts and maybe check the torque on the rear axle nuts, too.

Personally, I would do all the fluids, even if they were just done. For peace of mind I suppose. As someone else said, do a compression and leak down test. Lastly, checking the wheel alignment would not hurt at all either.
