Before H-T bashers get all gitty...I searched here/Google'd and looked at other people's setups/times and glanced at the Trans Charts Myself.

So, I have a GSR with an open diff in the car right now. I have had 2nd gear grind problems with the trans the entire time I have had it. Pulling the best of 1.89 60ft on 24.5 M/T slicks. Haven't had much time on the car. Suspension still needs setup better so I can blame the times on that a little. BUT>>>

I have an offer to get a B16 EM1 trans, with an OBX LSD for a good price, Wondering if I will like or dislike it. From my research, I have found guys are able to stay in 4th gear with the same tire as me running 8800 through the traps. Is this so?

I have just over 500whp, GT4088 turbo. Seems to spool fast on the track, so I'm not worried about that being any problem.

How are you guys with this trans likeing it? Good? Bad? I want to know EVERYTHING on your mind about using this trans on this setup. Opinions are nice, but I would like to hear from people with personal or seen in first hand experiance.


So, do I send my GSR off to get rebuilt and put a LSD in it or put this B16 in?

I run a gsr tranny as well man on a quafe I got mine from synchrotech im curently running a b16 fd ive trapped 144mph through the traps at 8700 rpm with around 580 h.p.

I was having issues last year with grinds man, and when i got this tranny I went with carbon synchros it hasnt had a grind yet this year. I dont have a cuff either

 

I would stick with the gsr its the best all around tranny

What have you ran on your 500whp cause i have a car with about 450whp and wanted to know where i would be in the 1/4
