Icon3 Clifford G5 Concept 470... sensor inop???help 905311

my car got stolen and stripped last month so I just installed the alarm system along with the G5 dual zone proximity sensor before i start the full out rebuild. It's on a 96 civic. the entire system works well except for the additional proximity sensor (P/N 905311). I have it plugged into the shock/proximity port between the MUX port and the cliffnet port? my questions are: if that connection is correct? And if so, what would cause it to be inop? it's definitely new but it may be the sensor itself possibly? how to test it, if that need be done? i know clifford doesn't offer tech support unless you're a dealer. any and all help will be greatly appreciated! i'm sure i have one or two more questions but they're obviously not important at the moment!!!
