I have a 2000 Ex with a blown motor. The motor is the D16Y8. I have been trying to find one in the local yards with no luck. Is there another block I can use that will bolt up to everything else. As far as I have read I can use a D16Y7 block.

Any help getting this thing back together would help and be greatly appreciated. I am not interested in doing the K20 or other swaps.

i highly recomend you get another y8. but it is possible to use a y7. remember it doesnt have to be from a 2000 it could be from anything 96 -2000. the y8 usually run about 500. they are a bit pricey.

 

Would it be possible to put a D17 A2 in with out a lot of mods? I found one with 44k on it for $300

 

hondawhiz just said 96-00. All d17 motors are from 01-05. Your best bet is craigslist or other yards that are further away. What do you mean by blown motor? A rebuild would also be a possibility.
